Boss replaces his employees with AI, then begs everyone to come back when his business goes up in flames: ‘Their clients are suing them’

Everyone's boss is talking about AI these days, but do any of those insolent morons realize that the only job AI is capable of replacing is theirs? 

Perhaps I'm a bit salty to the entire AI conversation, seeing as how my livelihood and financial well-being are determined by my ability to create, but it seems like AI buzzwords in the workplace are seriously misunderstood. Bosses and managers everywhere heard that they could replace their workforce with the likes of an AI datacenter-driven assistant, and they never stopped to question the costs of that transition. AI isn't good enough to replace a real, living person in the workplace. It may be capable of replacing some of their tasks or shortcutting some of the workload, but no AI system can replace an actual human. 

Surely, no boss would ever consider firing an entire department to replace them with faulty AI bots… Right?

Apparently, a thoughtless boss would do just that. And this guy went to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople to share his cousin's story of AI replacement, heeding a warning to the entire internet of the woes and worries of putting all of our eggs in the AI basket.

  • Perhaps this boss should have learned a bit more about the AI-sphere, expanding his understanding beyond that of the motivational speakers and “business moguls” he was constantly listening to. If he had put a little more thought into his rash, people-burning decisions, he wouldn't be fanning the flames as his business burned to the ground. 

    Ask Claude if he can bail you out of this one, buddy, because your once-loyal employees aren't going to be there for you ever again.

  • Desperate to bail himself out, this entitled boss decided to go groveling back to his old team. However, at this point, 4 months after being fired and replaced by AI, these workers had already moved on. Like the clients who would never forget that this man tried to swindle them with AI, these workers weren't about to forgive him for firing them in the first place. 

    Everyone's moved on; there was no retrieving this team, not after they were betrayed in lieu of AI.
