And all babies are off limits for hunting, not just their own litters. It's why cats become such great foster parents to other animals. It's why cats adopt kittens from other litters and raise them as their own. It's why cats adopt otter babies or puppies and raise them alongside their kittens. Because they are babies, and cats love them.

The same is true for human babies. Cats simply recognize that these tiny humans are different than the other large humans. These are babies. And babies are to be loved. Seeing pictures like this always takes a little bit of concern away from us. We always wonder what it is going to be like one day when we have babies, if our kitties and them are going to get along. We worry, somewhere in the backs of our minds, that they won't, that they will clash, that we will have to face decisions we desperately don't want to. And then we see things like this, and we have so much hope again. Now… fingers crossed.

This is our dream. To see our cats not only tolerating the new crying creature in the home, but to see them loving on our babies, showering them with all the love in the world. This is one happy cat.
