  • I got a job offer but it's a huge pay cut. HUGE job hunting My previous job paid $180k base +20% bonus and stock.
  • I just got a job offer today and the base is $75k. LOL.
  • Wow. HUGE pay cut. But I'm going to take it because my unemployment benefits run out in three months and I figure that this lower paying job is better than nothing.
  • On the upside, the job is fully remote and the hiring manager seems like a really nice and easy-going guy. I figured that I can take this, and keep looking. It's brutal out there.
  • Reasonable-Shift-706. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Some people are going a year or more with no offers at all. Taking an offer doesn't mean that you stop looking for one.
  • WherelsMyBathrobe It's not a paycut if your current salary is $0.
  • Dr_Beatdown. Taking it and keeping looking is the right move! Right now it's a $75k raise! Good luck!
  • Spirited-Candy1981 ⚫ No shame in that -- you got to do what you got to do to survive. I was making something similar.
  • After a year plus after unemployment running out and watching my bank account spiraling in towards zero, I landed an hourly contract: no stock, no bonuses, no PTO. But I am paying the rent, eating, and have health insurance. Good luck to you.
  • OkMidnight2709. Congrats! Went through the same thing. Went from making 250k to 150k finally after 1.5 years of failing interviews got a new job of 400k. So keep going I guess!
  • topgeargorilla ⚫ I used to make $120k and only job I could find and still find is to be a mailman. I make less than $48k
