Stray puppy showing signs of neglect saved by California resident who cleaned up the poor pupper and got him ready to be adopted into a loving home, rescuer says: ‘I can’t imagine abandoning such an adorable lil puppy!’

In a strange turn of events it seems that a stray dog dad might be going around and delivering his puppies to hoomans deemed worthy of doing right by his children. At least that seems to be the case for this story's dog pawrent.

Reddit's r/DOG subreddit is an interesting place full of funny dog stories, but when we came upon this story we were struck by something we had not seen amongst the others. A subtle indication that much like Mowgli in the Jungle Book there is a dog dad in California roaming around in search of hoomans who can care for the puppies that he cannot. And in this story we follow the journey of one of these dog loving hoomans who helped the dog dad.

Unfortunately our rescuer is not able to keep the puppy due to already having a house full of dogs. But their bond and journey together to prepaw this hardoneby sweetheart is truly uplifting. So we invite you to settle in and get ready for a tale of puppy propawtions.

Jheez, these situations are seeming to become strangely common. More and more we are seeing cases where stray adult doggos are seemingly bringing their pups into hooman neighborhoods and making a sort of introduction before scattering to return to their wild life, while safe in the knowledge that their puppy is being cared for by a hooman who will do right by them. Almost a reversal of the classic situation in which a hooman would try to return an animal to the wild after nurturing it. So it was lucky that this dog loving hooman was the one who came by when this pupper papa was on the hunt for a new home for his son.

Oh these moments in the story always break our hearts. Each rescuer forms a special bond of trust with the pupper they save. And even though they might not be well acquainted at this point, it is still hard to see them torn apart from each other. The dog is once again thrust into the unknown and the hooman who so diligently cared for them is left empty hearted wondering what happened to the sweet soul they saved. Of course this separation has a purpose and a point, because it is not easy to have to give up a dog, especially if they have pawrents, so this momentary distance must save a lot of grief in those cases. But still, it is not easy for all involved.
