'I'm a cat person and my husband's a dog person': Wife persuaded into getting a puppy by husband, she becomes head over heels in love and now identifies as a dog person

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

The debate between cats and dogs remains just as tense as it's always been. Cats don't always get along with dogs, and dogs don't always get along with cats. And it's not just that the animals themselves can fight, but people get very passionate about if they prefer cats or dogs, as if it was an objective truth. Even if it isn't, people act like it can be the end of the world to choose one over the other. In truth, there's no right answer, and there's no reason you have to choose or fight for your opinion. In Reddit's r/dogs, this couple has a bit of a spout about the pet they're going to get. 

The wife is a cat person, and he's a dog person. They've been married two years, and usually she just likes other people's dogs but never wanted one of her own. He someone convinces her to adopt a puppy together, and they adopt a 7 month old German Shepherd, poodle, husky mix named Bonnie. Immediately the wife's perspectives on dogs changes and she's head over heels in love. She brings Bonnie to work, she misses her when they're not together. And despite Bonnie being quite misbehaving as a puppy and chewing everything, the wife can't stay mad at her new and adorable puppy. It just goes to show that being a dog person or a cat person isn't inherent, it's something that can change with time.   • I have a cat, but I used to be a dog person. I used to have a golden retriever and I loved him so much. His name was Brody, and we did everything together. Hiking, camping, cooking, playing outside, snuggling, it was just perfect. There's something about having a dog that makes you more attached to them than cats. Dogs are a little bit more interactive and you can actually take them outside the home. Being able to form memories together outside of the house is really special. Cats are still amazing and I love my kitty.
