'What a micromanager': Rescued feline becomes company's adorable office cat, then goes viral for his pawsitively effective supurrvising method

Normally, we don't like micromanagers, but when they're small, fluffy, and adorable, how can we say no?

Almost every office now has an office dog. They raise morale, encourage people to get outside for a bit during their workday, and are a great excuse to take a 2-minute pawsitivity break. However, if we could, we would trade the "office dog" for an "office cat" in a heartbeat. It's summer, who honestly wants to go outside when you can stay inside in the air conditioning? And wouldn't it be great to have a cat purring in your lap while you're sitting through your fourth meeting of the day?

It may not be our reality, but it is the reality of our employee who posted on Reddit's r/cats community. The cat's name is Oliver, and he was rescued from the underground parking garage. One of the workers planned on taking him home, but he didn't get along with the other cats, so now he lives full-time in their office. And you know what? Not only has morale improved, but also productivity!

This is all thanks to Oliver's "thousand-yard stare", you'll see what we mean when you scroll down. If you have time to take pictures of him micromanaging you, you may have time to focus on more productive work or give him some pets. He's certainly not afraid to report you to HR, but he's also surprisingly easy to bribe. A little catnip or a Churu goes a long way.

Don't let Oliver know if you're scrolling through this at work, he might send one of his colleagues to your office to keep you on task. On second thought, maybe that's exactly what we want!

    Nate1102 Oliver lives in the office 24/7 (it doesn't get more fully employed than that). He used to be a stray in the underground parking garage. And 1 year ago, one of the graphics designers finally snatched him up, neutered him, and was gonna take him home.

    ReiLyfe Holy, I was not prepared for the zoom in of these photos with those facial expressions I know cats are expressive, but I feel like they did that intentionally I don't know why they're staring at you other than maybe they want food from you or they want you to pet them who knows but I think that's pretty cool. Y'all have like a four legged furry coworker to be honest.

  • The moral of the story is: I'm going out to get the I Can Has Cheezburger office an office cat. If they're even half as cute as Oliver, and their supurrvising methods are half as productive, then it's going to be a good investment. The big boss doesn't have to know, right?

    Better to ask for forgiveness than purrmission!
