There's no such thing as an ugly cat. All cats are beautiful. Some are just… really bad in front of cameras.

We think that every cat person has a moment when they are looking through their camera reel and thinking to themselves that, to outsiders, it must look like they have no lives outside of their cats. That's because 99% of the pictures on our phones are… of our cats. And we love every picture of our cat that we take. We love the adorable pictures of our cats napping in blankets. We love the silly pictures of our cats with their bellies up, showing off to the world, loving their lives. And of course, among the endless pictures of our cats that we have on our phones, there are always a few standouts. There are always the few that get sent out to more people. Because everyone deserves to see them. And more often than not, those are our derpy cat pictures.

Derpy, yes, because we don't believe that our cats are actually unphotogenic. Really, we think that it's our fault for catching them in moments when they weren't ready for it. Those are the realest pictures though. The funniest. Our favorite ones. When our partners tell us that they love a picture of us that we hate, we don't fight it. We simply think of our cats. Because we think the same thing about them. The worse the picture is, the more we love it, and that's just a fact. So, we knew, the second that a thread went up on r/cats, asking people to show off the worst, most unflattering pictures of their "unphotogenic" cats, that it was going to be one of our favorite threads in the world. Because it will be full of not goofiness, but a whole heck of a lot of love. And we were right.

We saw the first picture and thought that this person was exaggerating, but five pictures later… maybe they are not. Yeah, she's not the best in front of cameras, but goodness, it makes us love her even more.
