23 Wholesome Wednesday Delights Delivering a Dose of Cat-Centered Meme Joy

Cat memes never lose their meowgic. You can see your favorite one 100 times, and it will still make you smile.

I have to say that when I got accepted into this job, and I realized that I was going to be writing about cats and cat memes for a living, a part of me got worried. Cat memes – funny, wholesome, silly, all of them – were one of my favorite things in the world. They were my favorite cleansers. I could have been having the worst day in the world, but I knew that I could get online, look at a bunch of funny cats, forget everything around me and feel just a little bit better. And I thought… people always say that you shouldn't mix business with pleasure, yet here I am, about to ruin cat memes for myself. Well, I am here to happily report that, six years later, and I still love cat memes so, so much.

Cat memes simply never lose their meowgic. The proof is right here. It's me. The cat memes that you have seen ten times, I have probably seen one thousand times. And I still snort. I still smile. My day is still made just a little bit better every time I make a listicle like this, and that is why I am still here. When people tell me that I have a cool job, I pretty much agree. It's hard to argue against the benefits of writing uplifting listicles of cats for a living. And don't worry, my kitty at home? I've grown to love her 100 times more than I did. Heck, she's reaping the benefits of my job too. I'm more educated about cats, more attuned to her needs, and I'm being a good servant to her and to our cat overlords in general. Yes, I do think she's pleased.

  • Non-cat owners might think that this is silly. But it's not. We feel like this literally every time. We live with these cats, and still, every time we see them, we're shocked that they're letting us be in their presence.
