Business owner realizes a scammer has sent him a fake $2,000 check, so he ships four boxes of dirty diapers instead: 'I hoped they'd get angry about the garbage'

What do you send a scammer who expects $2,000 worth of merchandise?

Once the business owner read the order the scammer asked for… he knew something was going on. It was a $2,000 garments from a very specific brand that had to be shipped the next day. Weird. The buyer sent a check that the owner checked and confirmed was a fake one. So, instead of letting the issue go, he decided to send the scammer a box full of garbage and dirty diapers he got from his house.

There's something about this kind of story that makes me so happy. I love to read how a business owner gets revenge and decides to get justice with his own hands. And also, this revenge is hilarious. And just imagine the face of the scammer's face when he opens that smelly box and realizes he has been sent dirty diapers from across the world.

Now, I feel I have a duty to spread kindness and happy stories across the internet, so I don't want anyone to feel like I'm encouraging them to take revenge on people who scammed them in the past… or maybe I am. I don't know. Anyways, my point is that nobody should have to feel like they need to be revengeful when things like this happen.

I think the best approach is to just let things go. Of course we have to be careful, especially if we have a business, not to get scammed by this kind of people, but I don't really feel like we should do something to them whent this things happen. I believe that the best approach is to relax and let it go, so we can all move on with our lives like this never happened.

  • I used to own a commercial embroidery business. We got a call one day where a guy asked for a specific brand of garments that we got from our wholesale supplier. Then placed an order worth about $2000 but didn't want them decorated. It was weird. Said he would have payment to me the next day. FedEx delivers an overnight envelope with a business check made out to my business

  • So, I fill empty boxes with garbage from home. I include dirty diapers, used cat litter, and more. Four box boxes between home, my neighbor's garbage from the street, and I topped them off with garbage from the shop. I get everything taped up and wait.

  • In this story, the comment section was filled with praise for the OP. Most of them were excited and happy for him for the way he solved the problem. On the other hand, others were concerned about how he managed to ship those dirty diapers, since sometimes things like that cannot be sent due to health and security protocols.   • HermitWilson FedEx actually does allow shipping of hazardous waste, but only with specific shipping guidelines for packaging. When we shipped liquid hazardous waste from the site to the lab, the waste was in glass jars which were then wrapped in... disposable diapers. The diapers padded the jars against breakage, and if the jars did break, the diapers would help absorb the liquids.

  • jmerrilee Pretty sure what you did was illegal with the hazardous waste. It would have needed to be special packaged. Otherwise I enjoyed the fact you figured it out. I'm not sure who has to eat all that shipping charges though.
