Celebrating your dog's birthday is one of the most rewarding moments of pupper parenthood. It is a day when you can let your dog do exactly what they want and live their best life, while also pampering them in all the wonderful ways you have learned that they love to be spoiled. But just in case you are lost for ideas this year I gathered up a few good ones for you.

Reddit's r/dogs subreddit hosts conversations about all things doggo related, but when I found this thread about how pupper pawrents particularly spoil their canine children on their birthdays, I knew I had to share it with you. Because if there is one thing that all of us dog dads and moms love it is going wild on spoiling our pups. There is nothing like seeing their face light up in a way that you have not seen before. To be able to see them at their absolute happiest.

So amongst the many marvelous things that pawrents have done for their puppers you will find some that are more sentimental such as the pawrent who gives her doggo a JC Penny photoshoot each year. Some that are more extravagant like the pawrent who took a week off work and went travelling with her pup. And some that are just straight up silly like the pawrent who dresses their horse as a unicorn and bestows upon their pup a pink feather boa. There are all kinds of ways to celebrate your pupper's special day, but only one will be right for you and your doggo. So we hope you find some inspawration amongst the suggestions in this list.

  • Omg what? Like, the others so far have been cute and very heartfelt but this is simply one of the sweetest and most heartwarming ways to celebrate a doggo’s birthday I have ever heard of. Not only is he getting to do his favorite thing with the bonus addition of treats throughout the day, thereby keeping the excitement going all day long. But I think that the fact that his mom gave the letter to people in his life means that he will also smell those people on the letters, likely making him even happier. It's almost the equivalent of getting a gift and a hug.

Then all of our friends come over to celebrate with their dogs. We order a cake from the dog bakery.   • You know, on the surface this might seem a little silly and pointless but there is something to be said for doggos loving being part of hooman rituals. After all, our canine children do indeed view us as their pawrents and wish to be as much like us as is reasonable. So when we take them to do things that are 100% hooman related and get them involved it is one step closer to their dream of feeling somewhat like their pawrents. Meaning that this cute photoshoot and shopping spree is actually far more meaningful than it makes itself out to be.

It's still worthwhile. Perhaps throw him a "pawty" in the backyard this year, complete with hats, balloons, and other decorations. Because they endure our human nonsense every day, they deserve it
