Rescue stories come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and this one is in the shape of two puppies, of small stature, bearing the colors black and white. But while their transition to being doted on by their hoomans was smooth and simple, their sister was not lucky enough to share the same fate.

It is truly outstanding the kind of canine rescue stories you come across on Reddit's r/DOG subreddit. From the simplest doggo discoveries that immediately become pawfect pets to borderline feral doggos who need tons of love, support and patience to find their place in their new pawrents' home. But this story tells quite a different tale than most as this tale speaks to the vengeful amongst us dog lovers. Those of us who would love nothing more than to find the people who have the gall to dump a doting doggo on the side of the road, never to return.

Our tale begins in rural north central Texas, a place known for large swaths of empty land. Empty, that is other than a few homes, one of which being our rescuer's. Which makes it all the more curious how these abandoned puppies ended up landing on his doorstep and immediately assuming they own the joint, but that was the least of this dog loving hooman's worries. From the moment he saw the poor pups his thoughts were locked onto finding the irresponsible pawson who would do such a thing to a doggo and setting things right. We can only hope that words were the only thing that were exchanged, but it sheds light on a larger problem amongst canine rescue stories, and that is that the dumper faces no retribution for their actions. Allowing them to continue their dumping without a care in the world, when in reality they ought to at least be talked to…

    There wasnt a flair that was appropriate. This is more of a vent than anything else. But this morning my Mal was losing it whining at the front door. She's normally pretty excited to get our morning work going. But this was a bit different.

  • Well, here we are again with yet another pair of puppers who have been shamefully gotten rid off by someone who simply could not care enough. But what I really love about this story is this rescuer’s passion. More often than not rescuers will say something to the effect of having disdain for hoomans who dump animals. But this is one of the few times that we have seen one actively want to set things right. And you know what? I think the doggos deserve to have someone stand up and speak for them. This might not even be the dumper’s first litter they have discarded and will not be the last if they are not at least spoken to and put in their place.

    Edit: They're healthy ish. The single sock pup tested positive for Lyme diesease. I have a neighbor lady up the road. who says she will take him. She will be coming by tomorrow to see him and decide for sure.

  • It is not often that a rescue goes this smoothly and sweetly and I am truly grateful that this kind canine loving pawson was chosen by the powers that be to be the hooman who helps these pups find their way in life. All too often dogs dumped in the middle of nowhere are found in horrifying conditions and often by people with far less decisiveness and expertise. And you can see how this pawson’s approach has ensured that these puppies will live a happy, healthy and safe life with hoomans who love them. Can you ask for anything more?

    OP I figured him to ve 8 to 10 weeks old based on his size and attitude. They were younger than that. The vet said they were closer to 6 weeks. But he is a healthy 20 pounds and is progressing nicely.
