Neglected runaway dog given loving home with dog lover’s stay pup gang, but now a cross country move leaves the bonded pup’s fate hanging in the balance again, says: ‘I ngl started to love him but ain’t denying that it wasn’t in my plans to have a dog’

The lives of doggos who wind up on the streets with nowhere to go and no one to love them are truly sad. They are lives of hardship and harrow, digging through trash and running from hoomans. At least it is that way in the US, but thankfully this story's rescuer was not born and raised in the way that leaves animals to perish. But in a place where communities are brought up to support and care for these animals.

Life takes many interesting twists and turns and when you move countries and start a new life, you never quite know what you will find. Which is very much how our dog loving protagonist found himself when he touched down in North Texas for the first time. Amongst the different style of housing and road networks he noticed something else that was off, that all the street dogs looked hungry and unwell. This was a stark contrast to the street dogs he knew from back home who would often receive community support in health, food and medical issues. So seeing what was in his eyes a wrong, he went about setting it right.

He and his friends banded together to offer care for a group of puppers living in their area, eventually turning their front yard into a de facto canine clubhouse where the dogs could hangout, play safely and get a snack. But when the gang started to break apart as some dogs were reclaimed by their owners, one remained, and remained close to our rescuer. Their bond deepened over time spent working from home, glued to each other's side. But one day a cross country move would come to put all of that love on the line.

Ok, just wow, this is some truly wonderful culture. We do not often hear about stories of abandoned or dumped doggos in latin countries and we had wondered why that is. And it seems by the way this rescuer is writing about it, that it is more than common and accepted to provide care for dogs who might not specifically have a home. A tradition which if combined with spay and medical care, as it seems he was trying to do, is truly a show of love for puppers. And it is so darn heartwarming to see that he and his friends carried this proud tradition with them to the USA.

Well this is quite the choice to have to make. Do you stick by the doggo who has grown attached to you and does not want to leave your side. Meaning you risk hardship with your cross country move. Or do you find him a truly loving home where he can live out his days in peace. Both options have their risks and rewards and in all likelihood this doggo would be fine in both scenarios. But after all he has been through, all the uncertainty. It seems only fair to try and give him a chance to keep that stable ground and tag along.
