A couple had three adult children. One was married, another was soon to be married, and one had recently gotten engaged. All three had had their college education paid for, and the married kids had well-paid careers, while the recent fiancée had continued issues with her finances.
Because of this, the engaged daughter felt that it was fair to ask her parents to fund her wedding. She knew they were also in a financially secure position. They refused, on the grounds that their other two children had funded their weddings themselves. She felt that this was an unfair comparison, and it was stopping her dream from coming true.
