Hospital employee gets reprimanded for being a ‘no-call, no-show’ despite clocking in early and working for hours, then gets sent home mid-shift: 'Nobody knew I was there'

local hospital as a I work in a housekeeper. Today I clocked in early, signed the sign in sheet with the time stamp next to my name (all of which I do everyday I come into work), and got marked a no call no show because my supervisor claims that nobody knew I was there.
I started working immediately after clocking in at 7:50AM (scheduled for 8AM but there's a 10min window to clock in earlier) finished the bulk of my first assignments by 10am (too fast for them to believe I actually did it but I did because I just wanted to have it out of the way.
Management claims they had no idea where I was or if I was even clocked in at all until over two hours after I had already started working (the kiosk is directly next to the office door that has cameras covering the entire office and ground floor so if they looked up assuming someone was in office they definitely would have seen me).
My biggest issue is that I was marked as a no call no show by the same supervisor who's tried to do this to me before when I was at work and had been clocked in working for hours but he didn't have my personal phone number at the time and instead of reaching out on the work phone he immediately went to HR who lives two hours away claiming that I simply wasn't there
(was resolved she messaged me immediately asking if I was at work (yes) and gave him my number)). Got sent home 3hrs into a 12hr shift because of this.
Am I in the wrong? I understand that to an extent it is my responsibility to make myself known but we have no routine "huddle" for my shift on any given day, management is nowhere to be found that early,
there's a sign in sheet, a kiosk next to the office that is visible from the office where I clocked in, and a work phone that I was signed into. Why is it so hard for them to see that I've clocked in and why is it an immediate no call no show even though I had no reason to call because | showed up...?

Automatater Your responsibility to "make yourself known"??? Isn't that the purpose of punching your time card, so the company is officially aware that you are there and on the clock?
ComforbubbleNumb Manager is taking it out on you that they are doing so little of their job that they don't even know if someone is doing work under them. Blame shifting.
neat_mouthpiece Sign in sheet, kiosk, work phone... and they still mark you no show. That supervisor just wants you gone.
napsrule321 If they need to lay eyes on you to know you are there then what is the purpose of the sign-in sheet? Both the sign in sheet and signing out of company phone/pager are documentation that you are working that shift. If management can't refer to their own documentation that is poor performance on their part. If you were unionized I would grieve being sent home after 3hrs on a booked 12hr shift.
Consistent_Taste3273 Are they planning on not paying you for those 3 hours you worked? Because, if that's the case, then that would be wage theft, which is usually taken very seriously.
SufficientOpening218 go straight to HR. also, start taking a picture of the sign in sheet, and texting the supervisor when u arrive. time to look for a new job, but in the mean time, keep that bland, happy to be here happy to work here attitude we all have as houskeepers. (i was a janitor all through nursing school)

DazzlingPotion It's time to find a new job, businesses are a dime a dozen these days.

United Gift3028 I'd start clocking in, signing in (as you've been doing) and then waste 5-10 mins tracking down your supervisor, just to say 'hi'.
unknown-random-nope Look for a new job and file a formal complaint with HR.
ruehite perhaps work need to provide you with a phone, a pager or a radio. This seem like retaliation for not having your personal phone number. HR was able to figure this out.
tsirdludlu HR here and this situation sounds ridiculous. You clocked in, you signed in, and I can only imagine that you had to badge in repeatedly as you moved from area to area. I also imagine they have cameras in all entrances, hallways, nurses stations, stairwells, parking garages, etc. Good luck and let us know what happens
patersondave EVERY DAY when you clock in, phone that s ob and bust his existence with calls. 'yassuh boss man or boss lady'. if they say anything, tell them you can't afford to miss any pay. but look for a better job if you can.
55Sweeptheleg Tell them to review the cameras. It can easily be proven.
