So, I'm super excited to share with you that I signed up for my first half-marathon today. Yes, I know what you're thinking… 'that's not a big deal, people run way longer distances'. I know, okay!! But for me, it's the biggest deal ever. Let me tell you why: I've been running for a couple of years now, followed by almost ten years of heavy weightlifting and CrossFit. So you can imagine, not only the type of body that I have, but the immense challenge that involves being able to maintain a single exercise for a long period of time.

When it comes to running, it all happens inside your head. You can prepare your body, eat the best pre-workout meal, and buy the best shoes… but nothing is going to put you up for success as much as the type of mindset you have. During those long hours of intense running, in which you have to make sure to breathe properly, maintain good form, and to focus on the road, the only thing that is going to keep you up are your thoughts. So, if you're like me, and sometimes you find yourself to be a bit anxious, maybe running can help you!

Wait, I'm not here to convince you to join the running cult, because we all know at least one person who is always talking about running and how it is… Although I can testify and confirm that all of those arguments are very true, the best thing is the way it helps to calm your mind. You can be having the worst day, and nothing is going to make you feel empowered and grounded again as much as going for a long run in the sun. Just remember that in your next bad day, you won't regret it.
