A garden disagreement is growing faster than the plants themselves.

What started as an attempt to replace a raspberry bush has somehow become a marital debate. One devoted gardener germinated berry seeds, planted them carefully, and waited for his future harvest. His wife, however, recognizes the sprouts as invasive trees common to the area. Despite plants popping up everywhere, he remains convinced berries are coming… and she's finally decided to let him believe.

It's funny how, with time, there're more complex arguments when it comes to a married couple. We have here a husband who's very excited about replanting a berry bush with new bushes that could eventually provide fresh fruit to the family. The wife, on the other hand, is skeptical because the bushes ended up growing twice as big as they should, and from day one looked like invasive trees that can take over the whole garden.

What makes the whole situation even funnier is how committed they both are to being right. The husband has spent months caring for these plants, convinced that all his work will eventually pay off with plenty of berries next summer. Meanwhile, his wife grew up in the area and knows exactly what these invasive trees look like, so watching them pop up in practically every garden box isn't exactly reassuring.

She even sent photos to her sister, who immediately told her to pull the trees out before they spread any further. Still, convincing her husband has proven much harder. After bringing it up several times, she realized the debate was genuinely starting to hurt his feelings and decided to back off.

1 26f and my husband 26m have had a patio garden for a few years and recently our raspberry bush d d. So, my husband being the gardener between the two of us bought a bunch of raspberry and blackberry seeds in hopes to get more berries available to us.

He germinated them, planted them with care, and catered to them like his children. However, when the "berry plants" started to grow, they started to really resemble an invasive tree species

that is notorious for taking over gardens (that i am very familiar with, we live where i grew up, he is from a place 9 hours away). So I told my husband I didnt think his plants were berries but the

sprouts kept popping up throughout all of our garden boxes (he did do a bit of chaos planting so this isnt surprising to him) and he is utterly convinced

they are berry plants. He admits maybe 1 or 2 are trees but the majority must be his berries.

This has become the weirdest and biggest point of tension between us. I am utterly convinced I am correct as is he. I sent photos to my sister saying "look at all our plants" and she told me to pull all

the trees immediately. I told him, he was a little offended and is completely confident we will have berries next summer. I just brought it up for the last time

and it obviously has started to hurt him that I dont believe his plants survived and hes taking care of essentially giant weeds. I get it so I am backing off and hoping for berries next summer.

Side note- I was concerned he would be embarrassed and frustrated if he keeps this up a year with no return only to find out I knew and didnt tell him so

thats why I brought it up in the first place. He laughed it off initially but has since told me it is hurting his feelings so I apologized and backed off.
