We have heard about, read about seen some pretty poor ways to dump a dog. But the way that it was done in this story and the way it affected the poor pupper for weeks after is simply unreal. So join us for one of the most uplifting tales of a dumped dog overcoming the emotional trauma their ex-pawrents left behind.

We are quick to cover rescues here that are straight, sweet and simple. Sure they have their difficulties and dramas, but none quite have the harrowing tale that this story tells. It begins with a move so careless and conceited that one truly has to wonder what was going through these ex-pawrents' minds. At three in the morning these hoomans turned up to the small rescue run out of a residential home. We know this because they were filmed in night vision leaving the dog, all its possessions and a blanket over the dog's cage. They did not call ahead to have someone meet them, they knew that no one would be around and so felt safe enough to carry out their sordid plan without being caught.

Now, abhorrent as that is in itself, it is nothing compared to the emotional scars it left on the poor pupper. It must be so confusing to be taken somewhere in the middle of the night, your pawrents full of emotions. You are disoriented and being taken somewhere new. But when you get there everything feels wrong. There are no people or doggos there. You are still in your cage and the more time that passes the more apparent it is that your pawrents are not intending on staying there with you. Like dragging out an Irish goodbye by coming in and out of the room over and over again to collect forgotten items.

Well, this is quite the situation to come upon eh? We would be utterly heart broken to be called out front for what we thought was food donation, but actually turned out to be a really sad and cowardly way to rid oneself of their dog. And apparently the pupper knows just how sad this is as they are not even interested in the treats. Only in the slim chance that their pawrents will magically return to save them… with time we can imagine that he will give up on that dream, but for the moment it is heart wrenching.

Well, as it often is with these things, it’s one step forward and two steps back. But the important thing is the step forward and finally our dumped doggo is beginning to show some trust and appreciation towards her rescuers, demonstrating that she is well on her way to getting back to her old loving self. Only time will tell how long that will take and what other hurdles she has yet to overcome thanks to her dumping, but with the love and support of this shelter, she will get there.
