Woman finds abandoned cat but roommate doesn't want to take him in, she refuses to give up on him and moves out so the two can live peacefully

She made the right decision. 

When the universe shows you not once, but twice the same cat back to back, you know it's a sign. The cat distribution system works in mysterious ways. This woman had never had a pet of her own before, she grew up with dogs and back in college she bonded with her roommate's cat. This instilled in her a desire to have a cat one day, and that day came. Suddenly he appeared on her doorstep one day. She was leaving for work, but there was a sweet little guy who was affectionate, playful, and sweet. There was no collar, and all day her mind kept going back to the cat. The next day, she's sitting in her bed staring out the window, when she sees something darting outside. And it's him! What are the chances? So she immediately goes outside to get him. She interprets this as a sign from the universe that she should save him. It's December and cold out, there's no reason a cat should be all alone outside. 

She kept him in a friend's bathroom for a few days since her roommate wouldn't let her take him home. She posted on Facebook to make sure he didn't belong to anyone, but sure enough someone responded. They said he was theirs but that they couldn't take care of him. She decided to name him Bitty, and that he was hers. But the caveat remains: where can he live until she moves out? She still had a few months to go, but her mom swoops in to save the day. She was hesitant at first, but eventually she decided that she'd help her daughter and take care of the cat in the meantime. So even though it wasn't an easy journey, she ended up with this cute kitty and she couldn't be happier.

  • Roommates can be awful sometimes. It's just annoying to come home to someone else. There's no better feeling than walking into your own place, knowing nothing was touched, knowing that it's just yours, you don't have to see anyone or ask how their day was. You don't have to let them know you're having friends over, or playing music.

    After a long journey, Bitty was finally home. He still gets to visit his grandmama from time to time, and he's now an adventure kitty with a lovely little harness and a leash. And most importantly, he is very, very loved. Even when he's being a little goober <3
