Public National parks are shared land where people hike, talk, take photos, celebrate finishing a climb, and sometimes shockingly cheer when they reach a cool bridge, not monasteries. The funny thing about this story is that the setting is bear country, and signs in bear country literally tell visitors to make noise so they do not surprise wildlife.
But to this pure-of-heart treeker, who decided the park belongs to them personally, a normal conversation is an act of contempt the moment it reaches their ears.

It’s funny how certain people turn minor annoyances into moral crusades. A quick cheer at a viewpoint isn’t a crime. It isn’t a war on tranquility. It’s just two seconds of excitement after a hike, followed by everyone continuing up the trail. But to the right kind of person, it’s proof that civilization is collapsing and something must be done before the whole canyon turns into a concert hall lobby during intermission.

Some folks cannot relax unless they’re busy policing other people’s behavior in spaces designed for everyone. They get to feel important, righteous, and in control, even if the only thing they actually controlled was their own ability to enjoy a nice day outside.
