Fishermen pull a swimming kitten out of the water, still processing what just happened, when a second kitten leaps in the lake and starts paddling toward them to be saved

Who knew the guardian angels of a couple of kittens would be two fishermen far out on the water?

Some cats are truly luckier than others. But I don't know if I'd label these two orange kittens completely "lucky". They are definitely lucky to have been saved, pulled from the water as if they were baby Moses pulled from the Nile to receive a second chance in life. But I can't honestly call them "lucky", because it's obvious that the beginning of their story, before they were saved, is a harsh tale of abandonment. No couple of kittens is found in the middle of nowhere, only nature surrounds them, and they know to seek humans' help to stay alive.

Whenever I see a story of kittens abandoned in the middle of nowhere, it makes me angry, I have to admit. Because who in their right mind just throws kittens into the woods? There are so many, so many options for a person to consider before abandoning such helpless lives to their fates. Not ready for the responsibility of adoption? That's okay. But finding the kittens a forever home, or giving them to a shelter, are much better options than outright abandoning the kittens. It makes me boil just thinking of a person who takes kittens, intentionally, and drives far away to leave them in a forest, so god forbid they will also not have a chance to be found. What a heartless thing to do.

But this is where these two orange kittens from below defy the odds, and actually can be considered "lucky". They didn't just stumble across a couple of fishermen out in the open - they had the bravery, the tenacity to swim over to them while they were fishing in the middle of the water. Seriously, it takes so much courage to risk yourself like that for a second chance in life. And it's also courageous to be the one who gives this second chance. These two fishermen should win something for how they didn't even hesitate to save these kittens, in this life or the next.
