AromaticNet5121 Calling you a mercenary is more of a jab, doesn't seem passive agressive to me, probably being funny (in their mind). But also, im not there. Unless other things have happened, seems fine to me. Would your current manager be your new manager or something? I'd take the 28% raise for sure, especially as they're making the position around your skillset, seems a really comfortable spot to be in
TallTinTX You know what your internal office politics situation is. From what I can see, you're being offered a significant raise to work away from this guy. That's looking pretty good on paper.

Nearby_Knowledge8014 Every time he says something, make a note of it. AFTER the xfer, reach out to HR, "not looking to get anyone fired, just letting you know, as part of my responsibility to this great organization"

ClassyNameForMe Take the new role and raise. If the old manager is still name calling, then file a complaint about a hostile work environment.

Tzukiyomi Take the offer, start using it to look externally. It's just business. Also, we are all just mercenaries. Are we doing these spreadsheets for the live of the game or the company? Is he insane?
