‘To the absolute scum bag that dumped this little guy in the woods’: Rescuer’s raging message to hamster abandoner goes viral after fans fawn over its impressive come back story

Hamsters are not quite known for their resilient nature. If anything they are more commonly associated with catching heart attacks if they are spooked a little too hard. So you can imagine our surprise when we came across this tale of a brave little hamster who against all odds managed to survive several days of being drenched in the freezing cold while being trapped in a coconut ball. It was sheer luck that the hooman who posted this story happened to come upon the bag that was haphazardly dumped in the woods and contained the poor creature. And even more so lucky that this hooman was a seasoned hamster carer. You could say that their meeting was more than meant to be.

This story comes to us from r/BORupdates, which is rather lucky as we could not possibly leave y'all hanging with only the first part of this story in which the hamster was found and rescued. Such a cliffhanger would be painful to swallow. So with the updates that our hooman rescuer provided we have been afforded the full scope of the story including, most importantly, this brave hamster's impressive recovery. Something that you would not perhaps expect to hear about considering the dire conditions the cute critter was found in. Nonetheless, with its rescuer's expertise in hamster care and their devotion to animal kind this sweet creature got to live out the rest of its days in luxury, surrounded by love.

It just goes to show that while cats might have their cat distribution system. Other animals such as this hamster have not been left out in the cold by the animal kingdom and certainly have some sort of saving mechanism working for them as well.

Well, this is an incredibly lucky situation overall. We often remark in the feline world that the cat distribution system creates meet-cutes between hoomans and the cats who need them. But it is clear that such a system also exists in the wider animal world. Otherwise what way is there to explain that a seasoned hamster owner would come across a poor critter in need of the kind of help that only they can properly administer. It is clear that this rescuer knows what they are doing and understands just how terrified and on the edge this poor creature must have been.

Goodness what a come back story. For this tiny fluff ball to be left out in freezing temperatures, no less covered in water, making the temps even colder for three full days is one harrowing life event. You might equate it to a hooman being drenched and hiking around in wet clothes for a week in freezing temps. You would not expect their survival rate to be anything promising, let alone for them to make a full recovery and let their inner light shine once more. But the resilience of this hamster is plain to see and we could not be happier that it has been blessed with a home that will love and cherish it for the rest of its days.
