‘I messed up and sold my gf’s cat by accident.’: Cat freaked out by pawrents’ moving sale hides in sold bed and rides with buyers to their home

As feline pawrents we have to admit that we are responsible for more than a few mistakes in our cat children' s lives. Whether it be a late feeding, furgetting to clean their litter box or even mistakenly stepping on their tail as they race through our legs, we've all been there and done it. But one such mistake that does not come around quite as often is the one that began the story we have lined up for you today. This is a tale of a feline who was understandably frightened by the chaos and commotion of his pawrents moving home and selling their stuff. But that very same fear is what led this cat to end up in the hands of complete strangers on the far side of town.

Thanks to our investigative nature, we are privileged to know the final fate of this feline which is that he was eventually captured by his momma who followed reports of sighting of the catto for around a week. She tirelessly called, posted and drove around trying to find her tiny fur baby and bring him home. And it was exactly this resilience which led to her finding him understandably terrified but safe in one of the traps she had set up to catch him.

Now you cannot really blame anyone for this mishap, cats are incredibly unpredictable when they are scared, and there is no more scared cat than an indoor cat who unwittingly finds themselves subjected to the big scary world outdoors. But what we can say is that when moving home as a cat pawrent, it might be best to take extra precautions to ensure that your cat child does not do something unexpected and make your move that bit more heartwrenching and difficult.

As if moving home is not hard enough to then have your cat disappear on you days before Christmas. Well that is just something that no cat lover on this earth wants. But what must have made this situation even tougher to swallow is that there was no clear idea of how the cat ended up in the bed nor when it left it. Cats are so unpredictable when they are scared and you can imagine that a house move and a bunch of strangers coming in and moving furniture would certainly be cause for alarm for a cat who is unfamiliar with the outside world. Sometimes they hide, frozen and silent, other times they cry and sometimes they sprint with full force. The main problem being that any cat can choose either path at any moment…

Holy moly this was a lucky one. As we mentioned earlier, cats are an unpredictable bunch when they are scared and you can imagine that after a wild ride strapped to the roof of a stranger’s car, this cat must have been terrified. We have heard of cases where the owner spends weeks searching for their cat in a ‘sighted’ location only to find the feline was hiding in a bush unable to move. So it is of great relief to hear that this tiny tiger was at least able to get itself into the trap and as a result be reunited with his momma.
