When does fall end and winter begin?

Halloween is the highlight of the fall season, I think we can all agree on that. October 31st is the perfect date for a holiday that really embraces the wonders of fall. By the time Halloween arrives, even the hottest of cities get a little chillier, but the ones that truly suffer from the cold are not yet covered in snow. When Halloween arrives, fall is at its peak. But what happens after Halloween ends? We're not so far from the end of October, so it's time to ask the tough questions. Do we put away our pumpkins and fall-themed decorations, or do we still get to enjoy a few more weeks of this cozy season before we officially welcome winter?

Since Thanksgiving is the next big event, I usually let myself enjoy the fall vibes a bit longer. Thanksgiving still feels like a fall-themed holiday, so I am not in a rush to make any major changes to my house decor. As soon as December 1st hits my calendar, I am all for the endless "All I Want for Christmas Is You" tunes, but until then, fall is here to stay.

Some people would strongly disagree with my approach. In their eyes, as soon as they take off their Halloween costumes, they are saying goodbye to fall and digging out the Christmas decorations. They waste no time showing the entire world their love for winter and its holidays, and they spend every day since November 1st preparing for the most wonderful time of the year.

If my dog were a human, he would have belonged to that second category of people. There is nothing he loves more than the time of year when the Christmas decorations finally find their way back into our home and the Christmas tree is lit up. He can spend hours staring at all the lights, and he loves a nice stroll in the snowy park, no matter how cold it is outside. Plus, the fact that I am no longer dressing him in silly costumes probably adds to his excitement that Halloween is finally over and Christmas is right around the corner.
We still have a few more days until we have to decide whether we need to say goodbye to fall, or if there is still time to enjoy this wonderful, cozy season. Why not spend these days cuddled up in bed, with a warm drink in hand, and a silly collection of doggo memes?

As an introvert who thrives on staying inside and not talking to anyone, I have mixed feelings about this time of year. On one hand, the cozy vibes provide the perfect excuse for why I don't want to go outside and socialize. On the other hand, all these holidays lead to all kinds of invitations to parties and dinners that I can't really say no to. All I want to do is stay home and keep scrolling through memes like these. Is that really that big of an ask?
