We finally got there. A time of AI and flying cars, just like all those Saturday morning animated TV shows promised. The only problem is, are we really sure we still want that? Doesn't really matter because, whether we want it or not, it's happening. So, buckle up for this car ride! Or should I say, really buckle up because this car ride might do a flip or jump over some other cars- who knows.

When you say it out loud, it actually sounds amazing. A flying car that can make you feel like a science fiction superhero, while also avoiding heavy traffic. Waze and Google Maps are going to have to get really creative with that one. We even used to joke that TV writers from the 70s and 80s would be quite disappointed with the fact that we hadn't gotten there yet, but guess what: Back to the Future can officially change its name to Right Here, Right Now. Although we still have to put a pin in flying skateboards, they'll come any second now.

However, just like many other TV shows and movies taught us back in the day, not everything that looks like gold is actually shiny. As I said, flying cars sound amazing, but will they be able to fly above billboard signs and super high buildings? I guess we will find out. Of course it was going to be a Tesla, and Elon Musk, to take this step. Leave it to millionaire tech personalities to bring the wildest fiction ideas into real day-to-day life. The question now is: do you think insurance companies are going to add a “safe landing” article to their contracts? I’m thinking yes, absolutely.
It was hard enough for me to learn how to drive a car and get a driver’s license, and now I have to learn how to take off in a car. Hopefully it comes with safety pads on or something. Whatever the case, I must admit it is at least intriguing to see what the world will do with this new invention. Will there be floating stop lights? Will traffic police be forced to learn how to use a jet pack? Will parking spaces start charging more for airspace? Who knows. The world of possibilities has officially been opened, and everything can happen. That said, as much as we cannot count on a strategy-forward answer about the future right now, we will always be able to rely on hilarious memes. The crazier things get, the funnier they will get too.

As kids, we used to dream about flying cars and superpowers. Now that our dreams have finally come true, we have realised that our dreams have somehow changed, and flying cars are no longer at the top of our priority list. That said, if my future Uber driver is willing to charge less for extra cabin luggage than most airlines right now, I will welcome this new invention with open arms. On that note, I wouldn’t mind some courtesy crackers and juice for my next sky line drive.
