Our Bin every 1-2 Weeks because my Wife spotted "some mold on a carrot". It was dirt btw. I still cooked it and she asked "how could i eat trash vegetables"
My FIL grows veg in his back garden. His (horrible) wife buys potatoes at the shop even when he has just dig some up because she doesn’t like that the home grown ones come out of the ground. Yes, she is too stupid to live.

I volunteer at a farm a few times a year.
just show up and you harvest. That’s literally all you do. People just show up and harvest. It’s a nonprofit farm so all the food goes to food pantries and soup kitchens.
working at this farm has really transformed the way I see. I cannot believe how much f work goes into growing a single f carrot. I had absolutely no idea every time I open a can of green beans I’m blown away by the amount of work in production it takes.
I have such respect for food now, especially produce.
If anyone is near a farm, I encourage you to just check it out for at least one single day. You’ll be surprised how many forms are in your area and it’s just like a small plot of land. Sometimes they’re just like right in the middle of the city.
This is why you have to learn stuff about ppl BEFORE you marry them!!

A woman comforts a man at a table with produce
Sometimes people are more squeamish than others. Something that would make another person cringe is just normal for somebody else. Personally, I'm somebody who doesn't mind a little bit of what other people might call grossness. If something drops on the floor, I'm likely to eat it still. And when I'm cooking, when there's a little bit of dirt on the carrot, it doesn't freak me out. I don't feel like I have to boil the whole situation in order to be able to eat it. It comes from the Earth, and it's OK. But not everybody feels that way, especially the woman in this story. She was particularly squeamish about produce, and the second thing started to look wrong, she wanted to throw out the whole thing. It can be hard to manage your own produce, cause things constantly go bad before you can use them, but it's another thing to waste perfectly good produce for no reason. The husband in the story was coming up against his wife's feelings about that, and had a lot to say on the subject matter. He reached out to the Internet to find out if his perspectives were off base, and to blow off a little bit of steam about the whole situation. Keep reading to see what he had to say about this, and let us know in the comments what you think about the story.
Thinking about it, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen mold on a carrot before
they weren't trash vegetables until she threw them in the trash.

A man and a woman have an argument in the kitchen
Tell her that if shes gonna throw it out, set it aside or get a separate bin for her to put it in so she can still "throw it out" and you can eat it without them being "trash vegetables".
Your wife needs a therapist. She isn’t stupid. She knows the carrots came out the ground and travelled and sat in a store and all that. She knows they were simply washed and can be agian. She knows they are stored fine. She is ignoring all that information and reality and letting an impulse take over. She is justifying her actions as people do, trying to make an irrational act seem as rational as possible.
