King of the Hill is a classic ‘90s animated adult sitcom about a Texan family and their neighborhood shenanigans. It was funny, witty, wholesome, and often times political. So, when TikToker Pink Williams posted a video of him doing a spot-on Hank Hill and Dale Gribble impression talking about the 2021 Insurrection, it sparked a discussion amongst fans on what the character’s political views would've been had this show come out recently.
The viral TikTok video, with over 145k views, has Dale confessing to Hank that he was indeed at the insurrection, but not for any political reason—in fact, the both characters are against Trump.
Dale: “Hank, I have a confession to make, I was at the January 6th Insurrection on Capital Hill.”
Hank: “Dangit Dale, please don't tell me you support *gulp* Donald Trump.”
Dale: “No, of course not, Hank! What do ya think I am, some kind of moron? Donald Trump is a corporate stooge. The only reason he became president in the first place was to give all his rich friends tax cuts and get discounts on orange makeup.”
Hank: “Well then why were you at the insurrection, Dale?”
Dale: “I went for the people watching! I had to see it for myself. I still can't believe there are people in this country that are even crazier than me!”

Other than the impression being so absurdly good, it's also created a fun think project with the fans. Would Dale really have been against Trump or not? We're talking your classic all-American Texan family, so who knows what their political stance would've been. But viewers are stoked to talk about it in the comments. Many think that Bill definitely would've been a Trumper, but only because he would've liked feeling like he was part of something and then there'd be a whole character arch episode where he realizes he made a terrible mistake.
Mike Judge has allegedly been quoted saying that Hank Hill would not have supported Trump—and many fans on the internet have strong points supporting that statement. It's the other characters that are getting discussed here. Basically, it sounds like people think Dale would've been at the insurrection, but simply to do something stupid like steal a pen. And that Dale would've been the guy who started that Area 51 raid plan. They also think Bill definitely would've been a Trump supporter simply to be part of a group, but then would eventually realize he's made a terrible mistake. Some people are even debating whether Peggy Hill would've been a Hilary Clinton supporter or not.
Currently, there is a rumor that a King of the Hill reboot is in the works, some sources even say it's definitely official. However, there is not release date of any sorts yet.
