Back in 1895 a man created a descriptive list that had every possible storyline that could ever be told. So it's theorized that there are only 36 possible movie plots and we just keep telling them in different ways. But, come on, as long as it's entertaining us who caaaares? Right?? Well, TikToker @mr.moviemustknows recently called about the app users to point out movies that are simply rip-offs of other movies that no one ever talks about. He explains how Fast and the Furious is the exact same story as 1991's Point Break. And he makes some very good points. Lots of people are contributing to the new trend and they have great explanations. Harry Potter is just Star Wars in a different setting. The Matrix is just a more serious version of Space Jam! Honestly, you'll be blown away by some of these comparisons.
Point Break / Fast and the Furious (original video)
“His main mark takes him into the family and shows him the way.” Can you even truly tell which film he's talking about with just that line?
The Matrix / Space Jam
Some viewers think it's kind of a stretch, but the way the guy lays down the facts… It kinda clicks actually.
Gran Torino / Up
It's literally the same story line. Like, other than a few quirky outliers, like… It's the same movie!
Us / Bratz Sleepover Adventure
Y2K girls know, Us is really just Bratz Sleepover Adventure. It is the exact same story line. EXACT. DON'T @ ME.
X-men's Logan / Les Misérable
No wonder the both starred Hugh Jackman.
Avatar / Dances with Wolves
Apparently it's a scene for scene rip off, but instead of Native Americans its aliens. Bother great films though tbh…
Avatar / Fern Gully
Avatar just really wasn't original, huh?
Rango / Mad Max
Hahahaha this one is just great.
Atlantis / Stargate
If you want a live action movie of Atlantis, just flip on Stargate!
Turning Red / Teen Wolf
If you haven't seen this brand new children's movie yet, don't worry about it. If you've seen Teen Wolf, then you're already an expert on it.
Star Wars / Harry Potter
Holy shit… If these fandoms united who knows what could happen!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory / Midsommar
Please just listen to her points, they make sense.
Threat Level Midnight / 2022's The Batman
One's a comedy and one's serious, that's the only difference… basically. Both great films!
Doc Hollywood / Cars
Tbh I haven't seen any of them… but the synopsis sound like they both end up in a middle of nowhere town doing stuff?
The Watchmen / The Incredibles
It's basically just one tells the story in an R-rated way and the other tells it in a PG-rated way. So the whole family is happy!
