That's a sarcastic "shockingly," if you didn't catch that—McDonald's just does whatever they want.
Fast food restaurants in general don't have the best track record in getting order correct. It's definitely because they don't have the best working environment and the employees are just over it, and who can blame them. But still, some of the ways these orders are just so wrong is hilarious. Like, you were given an instruction and somehow ended up doing the exact opposite. It has to be on purpose at this point.
TikToker Thalia aka @thalia_renex posted in January about a heinously incorrect order she got from the infamous McDonald's (because who else could get something this wrong??). The Thalia was simply treating herself to a McDonald's order after keeping to her New Year's resolution of saving money. She decided to stay in that night instead of going out and blowing a bunch of money at the bars, and wanted to treat herself to a nice cheap and tasty little meal for being so good. She ordered a quarter pounder from McDonald's, one of their most famous menu items, and asked to add bacon, extra ketchup, and NO pickles. About the only thing right they kind got was the extra ketchup, but I think they took that one maybe a little too far. In fact, they took everything a little too far with this order. Instead of getting what she wanted, she got no bacon, probably an entire jar's worth of ketchup, and 31 pickles. Let me repeat that, she ask for ZERO pickles and she got THIRTY-ONE pickles…
Most of the viewers are not even shocked. McDonalds is well known for messing up orders all the time. This one might have been a more excessive one, but it was only a matter of time. Thalia says in the video that “someone surely quit their job tonight,” because that mess up was just insane. I mean, the employee seeing no pickles and putting 31 really must've have lost their last f*ck hours ago by that point.
Though many are finding the video hilarious and/or can relate to the content, some are calling bullsh*t. Like, that gravity of a mess up on an order is just impossible? Not for McDonald's, my friend. I'm surprised there isn't a disclaimer at the bottom of their menus that say something like “you can order, but we're just gonna put whatever the f*ck we feel like in your bag when it comes down to it.”
Luckily, the TikToker was finally able to get what she wanted the next day, but it was not for following her New Year's resolution. But still, goes to show you that everyone is aware that it is an extreme roll of the dice when you order from McDonald's, so even an order with the most absurd mess-up won't stop you from ordering again.
