TikToker's Grandma April Fools Her Into Calling a Funeral Home and Goes Viral

Some grandchildren get money in cards for holidays. Some get hard candy straight from the lint filled pocket to suck on when they see their grandparents. Many will simply get a nice lipstick smudge from a kiss on their forehead. Heck, if we're going by Spongebob rules, you'll also get fresh baked cookies, a sweater knit with love, and maybe even a story time. But TikToker Kyla Worth got something different for a certain devious holiday from her grandma.

Kayla recently has gone viral for the story of how her grandma pranked her this April Fools' day. She got a text from her grandma—which, is already impressive because not many grandmas even know how to do that…—that said someone had called her looking for Kayla. Kayla instantly thought if someone is calling her grandma looking for her, it's mostly likely a scammer. She told her grandma this, but she insisted she call back. Saying it was probably something important and the woman sounded very nice. She went back and forth with her grandma on this. Finally, she Googled the number her grandma sent her and saw it was a funeral home. Thinking maybe they just had the wrong number and didn't want to mess with anyone grieving, she finally gave in and decided to call them back.

When she calls the funeral home, a disgruntled man named Dale answered. She was already weirded out that he answered so annoyed, but continued anyways. “So I said, ‘hey, I just got a call from someone looking for me I think their name is Myra Mains,” she says. “The second the name came out of my mouth I said ‘F*CK,' hung up the phone and realized it was an April Fools…” It was too late, but it had clicked that her grandmother had given her the number to a funeral home with the name “Myra Mains," which when said out loud sounds like “my remains.”

Grandma Pranks Her:

Later, she realizes that the man who answered the phone at the funeral home, Dale, probably sounded so annoyed because her grandma had also gotten her mother with this prank. So this was most likely not the first time Dale got a call with somebody asking for “Myra Mains” aka “my remains.” “Kudos to my grandma, for being quite the practical joker," Kayla says. “The best part was her laughing her as$ off when I called her right after.”
