Most everyone has an opinion regarding email sign-offs. And most of those opinions are negative. As someone who doesn't write a ton of emails for work, it's not something I deal with on a daily basis. I go for the “Talk soon,” because usually I will talk to the person I'm emailing soon - and because saying “Best” makes me feel like a c-word for some reason. Like, who the hell says “Best” to anyone IRL? My scathing opinion of the commonly used sign-off seems to be shared with others.
A couple days ago, Twitter user @katiedimartin shared her frustration regarding these signoffs in an astute and relatable tweet. What are we supposed to say if everything just comes off as passive aggressive or curt?
