Sometimes, though, you can tell something is wrong from the jump. The energy is immediately off, and you know you'll have to fight an uphill battle to fight for your happiness there. You don't gel with the management; they're disorganized on a level that you can't help them with, and they don't know how to use you in a way that suits your ability. This is an unfortunately common problem. The question is, how do you handle it when you come across it? Do you cross your fingers and hope that it's just growing pains and that it will get better? Or do you get the heck out of there while you still have a fresh resume? It's not easy to know what to do, and it can be scary to think about losing a job, even if you just started out. But some things aren't worth the effort and will end up burning you out way more than necessary. In these moments, it's important to take stock of your well-being and see if you can do anything to improve it. That's what this employee was trying to do at the start of a new job.
