Text - There is a CAR in our building. No, you can't come in. Medium I was going to post this as a comment because reading about oblivious people reminded me of this story, but it's long and I think it's better as a post 15-ish years ago, I worked at a retail store on the corner of a really dangerous intersection. Text - Because that car that is halfway inside the store knocked out our internet and probably jiggled something to do with the computers..." "Oh. So will you be open tomorrow?" ".. Probably not." "Oh. Ok." Of course, this conversation took place inside the taped area with her hand on the door almost the whole time. I'm still baffled by her, even all these years later. It makes me feel better on days when I'm completely oblivious to what's going on around me.
