Did You Catch the Most Metal Cameo in the Last Game of Thrones Episode?

That incredible white walkers vs. the wildlings battle which took place in the Hardhome episode hid some faces that made the whole thing just a little more metal.

The band Mastadon were among the many wildlings that took part in the fight. The Wall Street Journal has the story:

Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher and Brent Hinds of Mastodon, the Atlanta-based group known for epic thrash albums such as "Crack the Skye" and "Leviathan," were cast as shaggy Wildlings that didn't escape the attack by the White Walkers and their Army of the Dead on the encampment at Hardhome, North of the Wall. After the massacre, they become wights themselves, ready to serve the White Walkers' ruler, the Night King.

It is "probably one of the most amazing sequences on the show, as a whole," drummer and lyricist Dailor told Speakeasy in a telephone interview Monday. He should know: "Game of Thrones" is a "rallying point" for the band and its crew, he said.

It's tough to tell whether they brought their own wardrobe or whether the production department had to dress them.
