They went were no marching band has gone before.
When the Kansas State marching band played in the halftime of the season opener against their rivals, the University of Kansas, they supposedly meant for a different portrayal than the unfortunate scene they showed.
Things took a turn towards the X-rated according to the New York Post.
The theme of the halftime show against South Dakota was "space," and involved scenes from Star Trek and Star Wars. During one formation, the Kansas State band formed the Kansas mascot and what was supposed to be the starship Enterprise crashing into it.
The spaceship wound up resembling male genitalia, which in turn set social media ablaze.
We apologize for anyone offended by our halftime performance depicting the starship enterprise and the Jayhawk mascot.

Apologize all they want, that didn't stop the Big 12 Conference from warning about potential sportsmanship violations so Kansas State copped to a self-imposed $5,000 fine.
There's just no awarding good art these days.
