Ryzhik (which translates to Ginger), unfortunately, lost all four of his paws back in January in a -40C storm in Tomsk, Russia. When he was found, all his paws had been so badly frostbitten and with gangrene developing at lightning speed, there was no choice but to amputate.
Luckily, Ryzhik's new owner truly cares for this cat who has overcome such great odds. The owner took Ryzhik to a special clinic in Novosibirsk that specializes in artificial limbs.

Thanks to computer tomography and 3D modeling, surgeon Sergey Gorshkov was able to create the most comfortable and suitable limbs for Ryzhik
"He is definitely the first cat in the world who experienced such surgeries. The limbs have fully connected with the skin and bone. The part of the limb that goes inside the body is spongy, the bone tissue grows inside it."
Sergey Gorshkov said in the Siberian Times.
Ryzhik is currently the only cat in Russia with four completely functioning artificial paws
Amazing work by Gorshkov’s clinic, who is pioneering new methods of helping animals such as Ryzhik
The clinic is also working at rebuilding beaks for parrots, and hoods for cattle.
And due to the fact that Ryzhik hasn't tried to remove the artificial limbs suggests that he is content with his new mobility
Look at that confident stroll!
