Like a 60-year-old man who forgot his Hotmail password, the FBI is once again trying to get into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's email server, reopening its investigation. This time, however, there's a new player on the field: Anthony Weiner. That's right, the man who can't figure out a DM has found has found himself at the heart of yet another high-profile tech-related scandal.
After the FBI seized electronics belonging to Clinton-aide and Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, new emails regarding the investigation were uncovered.
The New York Times reports:
"The F.B.I. told Congress that it had uncovered new emails related to the closed investigation into whether Mrs. Clinton or her aides had mishandled classified information, potentially reigniting an issue that has weighed on the presidential campaign and offering a lifeline to Donald J. Trump less than two weeks before the election.
In a letter to Congress, the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said that emails had surfaced in an unrelated case, and that they 'appear to be pertinent to the investigation.'"
