Text - r/AmltheAsshole JOIN u/Aleksandral128 16h AITA for helping a friend catfish her boyfriend? My friend and I are 22F, and her now-ex-boyfriend is 25M. This happened a week ago. My friend has been with her boyfriend for almost a year now, and everything has been going well She thought that he was perfect for her, and she was head over heels for him. Lately, she's been noticing weird behaviours, and he's been uninterested in doing things that they usually do together, like watching movies or

Text - My friend asked if I could install Tinder and check if he is active on there, so I did. I used fake photos and name and everything because he knew me, and we've met before. I found his profile after a bit, and he superliked my profile. We started talking, I asked when his last relationship was, and he said that they broke upa couple of months ago. I asked him out on a day my friend and him planned to watch a movie, he agreed and proceeded to cancel their plans. I sent all the screenshots

Text - Cheecky-Cheeks 16h Partassipant [4] NTA. You were helping a friend, it would be one thing if the boyfriend wasn't acting suspicious but he was and the girlfriend, your friend, had a actual reason to believe he was cheating. She asked for your help. It also wasn't like the girlfriend was wrong, he actually would of cheated on her! I think you did a great thing, you helped your friend out of a toxic relationship, you didn't she would of been stuck in a loveless relationship, while getting c

Text - AaranaMae 15h Asshole Aficionado [15] NTA: Chicks before Dicks. I'd do anything for my girl, and if it's to catfish a bF, I would happily tell her he's clean, or help hide the body* *No not really, but you get the point. My ex if 9 years was a huge liar, and everything I thought I caught him with he had a lame excuse. Like, and doubt just rings through your head. What if I'm paranoid? I wish I had thought to catfish him, that would have given me everything I needed

Text - flyingphucker 9h NTA. I get it. You feel just a little like a jerk, but you definitely saved your friend future heartache. People should learn to just call it quits when you get bored or outgrow a relationship. How many billion people in the world? You'll certainly find someone just as good if not better or just all around different if you are looking.

Text - Raven-Insight 15h Partassipant [1] NTA. Way to follow your intuition ladies! Eye for an eye. He lied and pretended to be someone he's not to keep hooking up with your friends, it's justice to catch him by using a fake profile. Don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking you're the bad guys.

Text - throwaway92423412 8h NTA. Questioning the validity of the post though as you just coincidentally found him on Tinder when it's random and so many people use it? Do you live in a small town?

Text - InsightFrisbee 10h NTA-but I think it's super interesting how the verdict for sure would have been Y.T.A if the catfishing wouldn't have worked and he wasn't a cheater. You're actions would be the exact same but because of circumstances out of your control (him cheating) would looked very differently I guess it's justified bc you and your friend just have a good intuition and the catfishing attempt wasn't a result of unfounded jealousy/insecurity but actual, rational clues.
