Although the official movie adaptation of BioShock may be dead in the water (sorry), that hasn't stopped fans from telling their own stories set in the game's universe.

Director Jared Potter set his short film, BioShock: New Year's End, before the events of the first two games. He writes:

In the lowest parts of the city, a small group of splicers have something planned that will change the course of Andrew Ryan's vision of utopia.

Potter hasn't announced any plans to make a longer film, but he says he hopes to return to Rapture in the future.
