Security Guard Rejects DJ Diplo From French Yacht Party He Was Literally Booked To Perform At; All Documented On TikTok

It's funny how somebody can be so famous in one place, and barely recognizable in another. In some way, this makes us regular people feel a little better, considering it's not the worst thing to hear about some rich celeb getting humbled from time to time.

A lot of celebs get things a little too easily handed to them. They get the first reservations at restaurants, they get the presidential suites, and they get to enter parties through secret entrances. Yeah, it can be hard to pity them sometimes.

But as we all know, not all celebrities are the same, and some don't necessarily get treated like kings and queens. I guess the question then is, are they even really celebrities?

Some celebs literally wear masks like Marshmellow, or they hide their face with hair like SIA. And some are just known for their songs more than their appearance period. Almost like a radio show host. I know personally that I've been listening to ‘This American Life’ on repeat for the past 5 years and I definitely could not spot its host, Ira Glass, out in the wild.

DJ Diplo may also fit into the category of artists who aren't necessarily the most recognizable. Even with his ever-changing colored hair.

The American DJ has plenty of songs that blew up, but he doesn't necessarily put his face at the forefront of every release, so it makes sense that some people don't recognize him in public.

What is weird, however, is what went down at the Yacht Party which took place at the Canne's Film Festival the other day.

DJ Diplo was hired to perform but, for whatever reason, was unable to simply be let into the venue. Apparently, he wasn't ‘on the list’ but this seems like a weak excuse to us.

Luckily the entire obscure event was captured and published on social media.

As you could probably notice, this was a very weird exchange. Sure, Diplo wasn't dressed very formally, but he's a DJ, is that what the security guard expected?

The video has already racked up 12.7 million views.
