Before we dive into the details of this auction, I just have one question: Where is Chewbacca's medal?! Seriously. Han Solo gets one, Luke gets one, and Chewie—who was right there, risking his life, flying the Falcon like a boss - gets absolutely nothing? Wookiee discrimination is real, people. And no, giving him one in The Rise of Skywalker doesn't count. That movie doesn't count.
Anyway… if you've ever wanted to own a piece of cinematic history, now's your chance—if you have a few hundred grand lying around. The original Medal of Yavin, the one Luke Skywalker received at the end of A New Hope, is going up for auction. It's expected to sell for somewhere between $300,000 and $600,000, which is a small price to pay for ultimate bragging rights.

The medal comes from the personal collection of Gerard Bourke, a prop master who worked on the original Star Wars films at Elstree Studios. And this isn't just any old prop—it's believed to be the only Medal of Yavin ever offered for public sale. Even cooler? It was apparently worn by Harrison Ford during rehearsals, meaning it has both Luke and Han's legacy attached to it.
And that's not the only piece of Star Wars history hitting the auction block. Also up for sale is Chewbacca's legendary bowcaster, one of the rarest props from the original trilogy. Designed by modifying a real Horton crossbow, the weapon is instantly recognizable and carries an estimated value of $250,000 to $500,000. So you might as well buy that too.
The Propstore Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will take place in Los Angeles from March 26 to 28, where these iconic items—and a whole lot of Star Wars fans' wallets—will find new homes.
So, if you've been sitting on a pile of credits and want to own a legendary Star Wars relic, now's your chance. Just, you know… maybe also throw in an extra medal for Chewie while you're at it.
