James Gunn has officially confirmed it: Peacemaker Season 2 is landing on Max this summer, with a premiere date set for Thursday, August 21. That means we're just a few months away from getting more of John Cena in tight pants and awkward emotional growth.
Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the new season, though with Superman currently in production, he wasn't able to direct them all this time around. Still, he just finished the DI and mix on the premiere and claims it's one of his favorite things ever. So yeah, expectations are high.
John Cena returns as Christopher Smith, better known as Peacemaker, alongside the returning crew: Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Nhut Le as Judomaster, and yes, even Robert Patrick as White Dragon (somehow).
Season 2 will focus more on Chris Smith the person, not just the helmet-wearing murder machine. Expect deeper character moments and more weirdness than ever. We're also getting new faces like Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Brey Noelle as White Rabbit, Tim Meadows in an undisclosed role, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., carrying over from the animated Creature Commandos.
Get ready. Peace is coming.
