Some years are just complete bangers when it comes to movies. 1994 is often cited as the best year in Hollywood history, with movies like Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, and The Lion King coming one after the other. But for some reason, whenever you look up "Best years in movie history," you almost never see 1988.
Well, I beg to differ—1988 was an absolutely amazing year with some incredible films coming out one after the other. We're talking classics like Die Hard, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Beetlejuice, Rain Man, Akira, and Coming to America, alongside some hidden gems that I absolutely adore, like Vampire's Kiss (which is the most Nicolas Cage that Nicolas Cage has ever been), the slept-on Heathers, Jackie Chan's Police Story 2 (which somehow outdid the first), and amazing comedies like The Naked Gun, Twins, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
