Dude Offers Expired Candy To Coworkers

There was nothing smart about offering those Smarties to the coworkers. As it turns out, they were expired, and everyone ended up getting sick as a result. Yikes. Those poor bathrooms, and those poor people. Anyone else never realize that candy like Smarties can expire? You learn something new every day.

    Text - TIFU by offering expired candy to my coworkers This story is as horrifying as the title sounds. Some background: I recently got a new position with a manager title at a used car shop. I didn't know anyone at my job so in an attempt to make friends I began setting out candy at my desk that people could come in and grab causing some small conversations to occur. Well this has been going great until recently.

    Text - I recently received a gift from an older lady at church for Valentine's Day. It's a small church so I thought it was a nice gesture. I'm the bag was a small notebook, a gift card, and a bag of smarties. Nothing much but a sweet gesture.

    Text - Well yesterday I had run out of smarties and decided to use the ones I had revived from the lady at church. I threw the bag in the trash, put the smarties in the basket and went about my day. Later I went to make some copies and when I got back to my office one of my coworkers was standing in my office with the smarties opened looking at them rather closely. So I decided to investigate. "Hey Matt! What's up?" "Hey OP, I think your smarties are expired?"

    Text - Upon closer inspection, yes. These smarties had to be older than the word smarties itself. They were so old they had holes in them. I hadn't eaten any so I wasn't aware. However. Everyone else already had without much thought. To my horror. Everyone had really bad stomach pain all day. Everyone. 20 people. 2 bathrooms. Plus, a bonus, the power was out so the automatic spray, and fans in the bathroom were not working. Many people went home thinking the had the flu, when actually it was jus
