Is there anything in the world that's cuter than a red panda? And no, baby red pandas don't count, sorry guys. Red pandas, like giant pandas, are bamboo eaters native to Asia's high forests. Despite their similarities, red pandas are much smaller than giant pandas and are the only living member of their taxonomic family.
Question. Are Red Pandas bears? Turns out, they're not, nor are they raccoons! However, later genetic research placed red pandas in their own family. Studies of their evolutionary history show that red pandas are an ancient carnivore species and are probably most closely related to skunks, raccoons and weasels. Via National Zoo.
