Every time we come across a story of a wild cat being rescued, the thing that we want more than anything is for that story to end with the cat being successfully released back into the wild - to live the kind of life that it is supposed to live. That is the best case scenario. As cute as they are, and as much as we would want to keep a couple as pets, we know that the best place for them is back in the wild.
Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen. Some cats go through such traumatic experiences that they change, they can't be released, simply because they won't survive out there on their own. Like the rescued bobcat who fell on its head as a kitten, or the rescued black panther who was rejected as a cub and got too sick to be released back into the wild, or the mountain lion who was injured and now couldn't take care of itself properly.
But when these kinds of things happen, that doesn't mean that these cats can't live happy lives anymore. We will help them, and we'll help them not only survive but thrive. We will help find them new purpose in their lives. The bobcat in this video is an amazing success story in our eyes. She may not be released into the wild on her own, but she is spending her life helping other bobcats in need learn what's necessary so that they could have the chance to do it.
