While many people would hesitate to adopt a disabled dog because they are concerned that they might not be able to take care of the pet's needs adequately, Aiden Michael Mann, a veterinary assistant, knew he was definitely up to the task.
He adopted a deaf and partially blind miniature Australian shepherd named Plum and the two became a perfect match!
Although he was worried at first, when the two of them finally met, Aiden knew he had made the right choice.
Once Aiden brought Plum home, the real work began. He needed time to adjust to her needs, and she needed time to adapt to him and her new environment. Aiden taught her to sit when touched under the chin, and he also taught her to follow. To do so, he would gently guide her nose in the direction he wanted her to go in.
Aiden posts on his Instagram page videos and photos from their daily life together and it's heart-melting!
