    Calcasieu Courthouse

    Toni Jo Henry was the first woman in the state of Louisiana to be killed in the electric chair, which took place in the Calcasieu Courthouse. A stunningly beautiful former prostitute, she killed a man in cold blood. It took three trials for a jury to convict her because of her charm and beauty. Her ghost still lingers in the building, and the smell of her hair burning can still be sensed today. It's said that she likes to tinker with the everyday office life in the courthouse today.

    R.M.S. Queen Mary

    The Queen Mary ocean liner sailed the Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967, at first carrying celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, but soon converting into a World War II troopship. Stripped of all luxurious amenities, the ship was restored to its former glory after the war ended. However, it was never the same. It is said to be haunted by all the soldiers that died aboard, including a young man who was crushed to death by a door in the engine room.

    Sammie Dean

    The whole town of Jerome, Arizona, has a paranormal reputation beginning from the Wild West era, with many mining accidents and gunfights leaving angry ghosts to haunt the streets. A well-known ghost is that of Sammie Dean, a prostitute strangled by a customer in the old Crib District. Her spirit is still searching for her killer among the town's people.

    The LaLaurie Mansion

    In the early 19th century, Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie was a well known socialite who loved to host parties in her mansion. When the police responded to a fire in the kitchen of the mansion in 1834, they stumbled across the severely mutilated bodies of slaves in the attic. LaLaurie was forced to return to France, but the screams of her victims can still be heard from the attic today.

    Moundsville Penitentiary

    Moundsville Penitentiary was the most violent correctional facilities in the history of America. Housing 1,000 prisoners at a time over its 100 years in operation, they lived in horrible, cramped quarters. When they rioted against these living conditions, the prisoners were killed in the electric chair, hanged or murdered by other prisoners. It's said the spirits on many prisoners are still suffering behind those bars.

    Cuban Club

    The Cuban Club, in Tampa's Ybor City neighborhood, was a well-known hangout spot for Cuban immigrants in 1917. It is said that the spirits of the Cubans never left the place, and still frequent the club today, playing the piano and dancing in the dead of night.

    The Sultan's Palace

    The Sultan's Palace was built in the 1800s and served as a house of horrors for the Sultan, a rich man with many wives and children, as well as a harem of young boys held against their will. The house was known as being a den of opium, torture and partying, but things got really weird when the Sultan was buried alive in the courtyard and his family were hacked to pieces. Nobody ever knew who the murderer was. Today, wails, music and smells of incense waft from the haunted house. Apparently, the ghost of the Sultan still gropes female visitors.

    Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum

    This lunatic asylum was once known as Weston State Hospital, and was once home to thousands of people with mental illnesses. Opening in 1864, this facility ran for over 100 years until it's closure in 1994, serving as a military post during the Civil War. No doubt some troubled minds still haunt this house at night.

    Fort Mifflin is the only intact Revolutionary War battlefield in the US, undoubtedly serving as a permanent home for many spirits. The most well known ghost is that of a woman who screams so loud that the Philadelphia police have been called to investigate - but to find no-one there. There's also a faceless man dressed in revolutionary clothes who wanders around at night.

    Moon River Brewery

    The Moon River Brewery that exists today was once a City Hotel, which was built in 1821. The high-end hotel had a history of violence and murder during the Civil War, including men beaten to death in heated arguments and a Yankee mysteriously beaten to death by locals. Ghosts are said to remain, looking for the next bar brawl. There have even been a few bottles thrown through the air by angry spirits.
