Waste Collector Hears Weak Cries, Discovers Two Abandoned Kittens Covered in Machinery Oil Barely Clinging to Life

A waste collector was getting ready to collect a dumpster from a construction site he was working at. Before he inserted the tongs that go in under the bin, he heard heartbreaking cries so weak that he could hardly believe himself. He decided to stop and look around. Good thing too, because he then discovered two of the tiniest kittens inside of the dumpster's tong inserts. The two babies were covered in machinery oil and mewing desperately for help.

The waste collector wasn't about to leave these kittens abandoned and in such rough shape any longer, so he called a rescue. The rescue was at capacity, but they were able to get one of their veteran cat fosters to volunteer care for the itty bitty felines. They were passed off to her, and the kittens immediately started getting the care they need.

S.O.S.

Megan the foster, who goes by @meganandtherescues on TikTok where she shares videos of the animals she fosters, doesn't usually take in bottle babies because she has a lot of special needs animals to care for and bottle feeding takes a lot of extra time that she hardly has to spare. But the state of these itty bitty babies were just too desperate to say no to help. So she took hours and hours to clean the oil off of them, treated them for the obvious eye infections they both had, and put them in the incubator to keep them warm.

Just a couple of weeks old, these kittens had to eat, but were not taking to the bottle nipple immediately. So she had to make the quick decision to tube feed them. This went on for a little bit, but eventually they took to the bottle and can feed normally.

Update

Now she has been feeding them every two hours with the kitten formula, treating them for their eye infection, and helping them go to the bathroom. Apparently, since they are so young and still in not the best of shape, she has to help them go by giving a little bit of extra stimulation. The kittens are doing MUCH better than the state they were found in and the foster fully believes they will grow up to be big and strong cats, and eventually, be well enough to be put up for adoption.
