Man, nothing can bring the blood to a boil like a busy body boss who aggressively insists that their employees do things in the name of the rules that actually only end up hurting the company's efficiency. Clearly this boss had their head in the clouds. Fortunately, the employee on deck was ready to dish out a little awakening malicious compliance to remedy the situation.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Vizslaman, who cleverly ensured that their helicopter boss sent their demands about breaks in an email. That written evidence certainly came back to help the original poster when a call overlapped with their required break time and when their boss was confronted with the issue. This was another great example of a boss not fully understanding the day-to-day responsibilities of their employees and enforcing unrealistically strict rules that actually do nothing but backfire in the end. We know that this kind of story applies to countless toxic workplaces. For some more satisfying malicious compliance, check out this professor who got schooled by their students.
